New Year - New Goals! Can we help?
By definition, a goal is defined as the object of a person's ambition or effort; an aim or desired result. They often revolve around your physical fitness, personal life, career, spirituality, mental health… The list could go on and on. As Speech-Language Pathologists, we learn how to write goals for our clients, but here at Buckeye Speech Path, we take it one step further. We make it our goal to help our clients and encourage them to take an active role in the development of their plan. We specialize in therapy targeting executive functioning - which involves the cognitive processes needed to accomplish those goals.
Here are a few general goal setting tips:
Break down large goals into smaller, more manageable steps
Write down your goals or use a visual tracking system
Creating and maintaining a routine is key
Celebrate the small wins
So what are the results you would like to see in 2025? At Buckeye Speech Path, we have several distinct areas of care that we excel in! Do you need traditional speech therapy to treat speech, language, or swallowing disorders? Do you need executive functioning sessions to work on memory, planning, flexibility or inhibition? Are you a young stroke survivor who is looking for support and community? Are you or a loved one looking for Oromyfunctional therapy to improve your airway health? Buckeye Speech Path is here to help meet you where you are, and help guide and support you in the journey to where you want to be! You can always call our office to schedule a free 15-minute consultation, and see if we can serve you in 2025!
And…last but not least, if you ended up here, but do not find yourself in the position where improving your communication is a goal in 2025, that’s fine! Take some time and consider setting a goal or two for your own personal development this year. We are all better together when we take time to learn about ourselves, and figure out how we can grow to be the best version of ourselves!
Happy goal setting in 2025, from all of us at Buckeye Speech Path!
